The mold product workshop has built a solid foundation of quality through its strong capabilities

Molds are referred to as the "mother of industries", and their manufacturing level directly determines the quality and production efficiency of downstream products. Recently, the mold production workshop of SIKAIDA showcased its powerful manufacturing capabilities as the core engine of the enterprise to industry media. This modern workshop, which integrates large-scale CNC processing, precise assembly, and automated debugging, is delivering high-precision molds to domestic and foreign automotive original equipment manufacturers in an efficient and collaborative production mode.

Hardcore equipment, building a moat of processing accuracy

Entering the mold product workshop of SIKAIDA, what catches your eye are rows of large five-axis machining centers and gantry lathes running at high speed. This place is not only a stage made of steel, but also a competition arena for precision and efficiency.

The workshop is currently equipped with 20 high-end CNC processing equipment. Many of these machines can operate simultaneously, and the positioning accuracy can reach ±0.005mm. For the complex contour surfaces of large covering parts such as the rear panel and side panel of KQ5152, the workshop has adopted the "separation of rough and fine processing + constant temperature control" process, effectively eliminating the deformation errors caused by cutting heat, and ensuring that the shape of each mold perfectly reproduces the mathematical model designed by the designer.

Digital-driven, production process is transparent and visible

Based on hardware upgrades, the mold product workshop has fully implemented digital management. The progress of each process and the operating status of each piece of equipment are displayed in real time on the electronic board in the center of the workshop.

Deep application of MES system: Through the Manufacturing Execution System (MES), the workshop has achieved digitalized control of the entire process from dispatching work, processing, inspection to assembly. Operators can scan the QR code of the workpiece to retrieve 3D drawings and process parameters, achieving "paperless" precise operations.

In-machine detection and closed-loop control: Some high-precision machine tools are equipped with in-machine detection probes. During the processing, they can automatically complete the measurement and compensation of key dimensions, transforming post-processing inspection into process control, thereby significantly reducing the scrap rate.

Craftsmanship in assembly, details reveal the essence

If the processing workshop is where the "framework" of the mold is created, then the assembly and debugging area is where the "soul" of the mold is bestowed. In the assembly area of the mold product workshop, experienced fitter technicians are meticulously fine-tuning the series of automatic line molds.

High-precision alignment: For molds of exterior components such as doors and rear panels, the alignment rate directly affects the surface quality of the stamped parts. Technicians employ a dual inspection method of "red lead alignment + light and shadow inspection of the plate" to ensure that the adhesion rate between the punch and die of the mold reaches over 90%, thereby preventing the occurrence of dark pits or waves in the stamped parts from the very beginning.

Dynamic Debugging Simulation: Before the molds are shipped, the debugging press machine in the workshop can simulate the high-speed automated stamping environment at the customer's site. Through hundreds of dynamic mold tests, key indicators such as waste falling, ejection balance, and sensor sensitivity can be verified in advance, ensuring that the molds "pass the first time" upon arrival at the customer's site.

Strict quality control, full-process traceability

In a corner of the workshop, the three-coordinate measurement room maintains a constant temperature and humidity. Every finished mold insert and every crucial guiding component must undergo strict "examinations" here. The measurement data is automatically uploaded to the quality management system, generating a unique "mold health record". Any minor dimensional deviation will be warned by the system and traced back to the previous process, forming a closed-loop management of "processing - measurement - correction - re-measurement".

Looking to the future

"The equipment is the foundation, management is the soul, and talent is the core," said the production director of SIKAIDA. "Our mold product workshop is not only a production site, but also a testing ground for technological innovation and a training ground for talent cultivation of the company."

In the future, the mold production workshop of SIKAIDA will continue to advance the automation upgrade and lean production. It will explore the application of artificial intelligence in optimizing processing parameters, enabling stronger manufacturing flexibility and faster delivery cycles, and facilitating the transformation and upgrading of the global automotive manufacturing industry.
